ABSTRACT
Polyherbal formulations are currently been used worldwide and have gained popularity due to their natural origin and low side effect. Polyherbal formulation have increased therapeutic action and reduces the concentration of single herbs. Zingiber officinale, Andographis paniculata and Annona muricata are known to have potential medicinal uses. This study evaluated the streptozotocin-induced Sprague-Dawley glycemic rats treated with the polyherbal aqueous extract’s on wound healing. Five groups of male Sprague-Dawley rats were administered with the extract orally at varying doses (50, 100, and 200 mg/kg) for seven days. While 2 mg/kg Nitrofurazone and untreated group serves as the control groups. The results from this study showed the wound healing property of the extract with no significant difference when compared with the control groups. In conclusion, the study demonstrates the promising effects on wound healing present in the extract.
