ABSTRACT
This study investigated workplace inclusion and employee’s job satisfaction in the University of Benin. A further objective of this study was to ascertain the impact of employee empowerment, collaboration, inclusion in decision making and equity on job satisfaction among employees of the University of Benin. The research questions were drawn covering the above objectives.
The population consisted of the academic of different faculties in University of Benin. Data were primarily sourced through the physical administration of three hundred (300) questionnaire and all three hundred (300) were found usable for the empirical analysis. The descriptive (frequency, mean and percentage) and inferential statistics (regression) were adopted for the study’s analysis using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software.
Specifically, the study revealed the following: that there is a significant relationship between employee empowerment and job satisfaction among employees of the University of Benin; that collaboration has significant relationship with job satisfaction among employees of the University of Benin; that inclusion in decision making has significant impact on job satisfaction among employees of the University of Benin; and that there is significant relationship between equity and job satisfaction among employees of the University of Benin Based on these findings, it was recommended that: business owners should organize diversity training programs; management of organization should endeavor to establish inclusive policies and practices; organization should foster open communication; and organizations should strive to promote actively diversity in leadership positions.
