ABSTRACT
This research work examined the contribution of women to sports development in Nigeria in the 21st century, particularly through the case study of the Super Falcons, reflects a dynamic and transformative journey that encapsulates both progress and ongoing challenges. To start with, in chapter one a broad introduction to the study with references to background to the significance of women sports in Nigeria. The study examines the role of women in advancing sports development in Nigeria during the 21st century, focusing on assessing their strategies, progress, constraints, success stories and impact, and lessons learned to inform future gender-inclusive sports policies. Consequently, chapter three also examine the journey and accomplishments of the Nigerian women’s national football team, examining its profound impact on the sports culture for women in Nigeria. Nigeria's national women's football team, have not only epitomized excellence and resilience on the field but have also significantly influenced the broader landscape of sports development in Nigeria. Their achievements have highlighted the potential of women's sports and have spurred important 50 discussions and initiatives aimed at enhancing the status and infrastructure for female athletes in the country
