ABSTRACT
This study was conducted to examine the Impact of Women in Socio-Cultural Development in Post-Colonial Benin, it discusses the Brief Origin of the Benin People and their culture, it also examines the social and cultural role of women in Post-Colonial Benin, the study examines the impact and contribution of women in the Socio-Cultural Development in Post-Colonial Benin, as well as the challenges women face in PostColonial Benin. The study found that women have played significant roles in the sociocultural development of post-colonial Benin Kingdom. During this time, women in Benin have actively contributed to various aspects of society, including education, politics, arts, entrepreneurship, and women's rights.1 Women have made notable strides in education in post-colonial Benin. They have fought for and gained access to formal education, enabling them to pursue higher studies and professional careers. As educated women, they have become teachers, professors, researchers, and administrators, contributing to the development of the educational system and inspiring younger generations.2 Women have actively participated in politics and governance in post-colonial Benin. They have held political positions at both local and national levels, including as members of parliament, ministers, and mayors. Women's involvement in politics has helped shape policies and initiatives that address gender equality, women's rights, and social issues affecting women and their communities.
