ABSTRACT
This study shows the extent to which Vocational and Technical Education Programme in Edo State Public Universities And Students' Academic Satisfaction. This study employed a descriptive survey research design. The population of this study comprised Two hundred and sixty-three(263) 400 level VTE students. The sample size of this study was made up of One hundred and thirty (130) final year VTE students, The instrument that was used for data collection was a structured questionnaire (VATEPIESPUASASQ) and it was validated by two experts in the Department of Vocational and Technical Education, Cronbach alpha statistics was employed to measure the level of consistency of items to give a coefficient of 0.94. This study examines the vocational and technical education programs within Edo State's public universities, focusing on students' academic satisfaction. Drawing on the research of Ekpenyong, Osuala, Tiamiyu, Babalola, Obidile, Oladejo, Edokpolor, Owenvbiugie, Nilsson, Osula, Suleiman, Alhajraf, Alasfour, Kolawole, Dele, Amuzu, Ankalibazuk, Abdulai, Okolie, Elom, Inyiagu, Malik, Mushtaq, and Khan, it employs a comprehensive approach to evaluate various dimensions of these programs.Through surveys and interviews, the study assesses elements such as curriculum effectiveness, teaching quality, infrastructure, and student support services. It explores the perceptions and experiences of students enrolled in vocational and technical education courses across different universities in Edo State.The findings highlight both strengths and areas needing improvement within the vocational and technical education programs. They reveal correlations between student satisfaction and factors such as curriculum relevance, teaching methodologies, and the availability of practical training opportunities.Based on these insights, recommendations are proposed to enhance the quality and relevance of vocational and technical education programs, thereby improving student academic satisfaction. These recommendations encompass curriculum review, faculty development initiatives, facility upgrades, and the implementation of student support mechanisms.This study contributes to the understanding of vocational and technical education in Edo State's public universities, offering valuable insights for policymakers, educators, and administrators seeking to enhance the quality and impact of these programs on student learning outcomes and satisfaction levels.
