ABSTRACT
In the annals of ASUU'S history, the echoes of unionism reverberate as a testament to the unwavering spirit of members of the unions who dared to challenge the status quo through strikes that shook the foundations of complacency and boycotts that proclaimed the power of unity. ASUU'S unionism emerged not merely as a movement, but as a force of change, an embodiment of resilience and a beacon of hope. These strikes with their resounding demands for fair wages, safe working conditions demonstrated that the voice of the workers cannot be stifled forever. Based on the study or research carried out, it is safe to conclude that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has been at the forefront of the struggle for better working and learning conditions in Nigerian universities since its formation in 1978 and this has brought both negative and positive impact to the educational sector of Nigeria.
