ABSTRACT
This study assessed “UNIBEN students knowledge and application of media literacy in information management”. The study was to address four research objectives and it was anchored on the tenets of uses and gratification theory and knowledge management theory. Using the survey design, a questionnaire was used to elicit data from 200 respondents in the University of Benin. The findings of the study reveals that there is need to focus on providing opportunities and encouraging of critical analysis of media messages, with the right support, students can be more media literate and better equipped to navigate the digital world. The study recommended that policies should be put in place to support media literacy education and that students should be encouraged to critically evaluate media messages and their impact
