ABSTRACT
There are different modes of transportation and road transport plays a significant role in agricultural productivity. This is as a result of it being the major means of transportation of agricultural produce from the rural farmlands to the rural market as well as most urban areas. This study examines the transportation constraint on agricultural productivity in Uzebba town, Owan west local government area.it employs the use of primary and secondary sources of data. Four hundred copies of questionnaire were administered to the farmers in the study area. Focus group discussion was employed also to gather information on the transportation constraints on agricultural productivity. Descriptive statistics and simple percentage distribution tables and charts were used to analyze the data. The result showed that transport cost has a negative impact on agricultural productivity in the study area. The poor condition of the rural road affects transportation cost of the agricultural produce and the farmers’ income. This research concludes by suggesting that advancement in road transport will lead to increase productivity by rural farmers and reduce the effect of poverty in the rural areas.
