This study explored the efficacy of training two male rabbits to utilize a locally assembled artificial vagina (AV) for semen collection. The training protocol comprised a series of structured phases, including acclimatization, mounting, and ejaculation, designed to facilitate seamless adaptation to the AV. To assess the impact of training on semen quality, variousparameters such as semen volume, colour, smell, liquification time and appearance were evaluated. The results revealed that both rabbits successfully adapted to the AV and produced quality semen. The findings of this study underscore the viability and effectiveness of employing a locally assembled AV for semen collection in rabbits, offering valuable implications for rabbit breeding programs and reproductive management strategies.
