ABSTRACT
This work centers onTotal Quality Management and Productivity of Manufacturing Industry in Lagos, which also served as the main objective of the study.
The population of the study comprises all employees working within British American Tobacco Nigeria Limited (BATN) in Lagos, Nigeria with the total numbers of 800 respondents. Yamane’s formula was used to determine the sample size for the study, a sample size of 267 respondents was established. The 267 questionnaires were distributed through google forms and were received from employees of British American Tobacco Nigeria Limited (BATN) in Lagos, Nigeria. The study revealed that TQM plays a significant role in shaping strategies implementation within Lagos industries, particularly evidenced within British American Tobacco Nigeria Limited (BATN). Moreover, the implementation of TQM strategies at BATN has a positive effect on productivity metrics such as efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and product quality. Additionally, insights gleaned from TQM practices underscore the importance of aligning quality objectives with overall business goals, emphasizing employee engagement, leadership commitment, continuous improvement, and innovation.
It is recommended that Organizations should prioritize the adoption and implementation of TQM strategies, recognizing their potential to enhance productivity and overall performance. Management at BATN and other manufacturing firms should ensure a strong commitment to TQM principles, fostering a culture of quality consciousness and continuous improvement among employees. Efforts should be made to align quality objectives with broader business goals, ensuring that TQM initiatives directly contribute to organizational success and competitiveness.
