SUMMARY Nigeria and South Africa have experienced the good, bad and ugly in their diplomatic, trade, defence and socio-cultural relations over the years. Currently, as it was in recent past, the scapegoating of Nigerians in targeted attacks on African immigrants in South Africa has had a negative impact on the long-standing relations between both countries. The government of Nigeria especially that of South Africa must do the needful to avert xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in the nearest and distant future. In the light of the findings in this chapter, recommendations have been made to majorly the government of Nigeria and South Africa which should not only be considered but implemented without delay.
