ABSTRACT

This study deals with the treatment of recycled fish pond water using a simple filtration system and explores its application for sustainable fish farming practices. The primary objective is to assess the effectiveness of this filtration system in improving critical water quality parameters, including pH levels, ammonia and nitrite concentrations, and turbidity. Additionally, the study evaluates the filtration system's ability to consistently maintain a flow rate of 30 liters per hour. The results obtained from this research reveal substantial enhancements in water quality within the fish pond subsequent to the installation of the filtration system. Notably, these improvements include an increase in pH levels from 7.2 to 7.5, a significant reduction in ammonia levels from 0.4 to 0.1 mg/L, a decrease in nitrite concentrations from 0.6 to 0.2 mg/L, and a remarkable reduction in turbidity from 8.5 to 2.1 NTU. These transformations align favorably with conditions optimal for fish health, underscoring the filtration system's positive influence on the aquatic environment. Furthermore, the filtration system consistently maintains the desired flow rate of 30 liters per hour, exhibiting minimal fluctuations and ensuring efficient water quality management. The assessment of system efficiency confirms its adherence to design specifications, emphasizing its practical utility in real-world applications. Robust statistical analyses, including ANOVA and regression tests, buttress the findings of improved water quality parameters, further enhancing the study's credibility.
