Abstract

The purpose of the study is on the roles of technology in the high-rate examination malpractices in senior secondary certificate examination among students in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State. Four reserch question were raised to guide the study The research work adopts descriptive survey research design and makes use of frequency count and simple percentage means and standard deviation to analyze the data collected through the use of a structured questionnaire which serves as the research instrument. The data collected were analysed in the chapter four of the research work according to the research questions raised in the chapter one of this research work. Therefore, having carried out the research work it is discovered that Technology for curbing parents related examination malpractices in public examination in Nigeria include; not choosing courses/careers for children; inculcate good moral values in children, Technology for curbing school personnel/teachers related examination malpractices include; exam supervisors and invigilators should be nominated by school principals; only teachers of proven integrity should be nominated and appointed as supervisors/invigilators; supervisors/invigilators should be adequately remunerated. It was recommended that Pending the  provision of adequate hall and seats for examinations, adequate number of invigilators should be assigned to examination room (the policy of a chief invigilator and at least one invigilator to every 40 students should be adhered to). All activities relating to examinations such as question paper production, invigilation, marking and result collation as well as computation should be handled with a high sense of responsibility by those concerned.
