SUMMARY
This work has demonstrated the impact of women in international politics with particular reference to the contributions of Hillary Rodham Clinton to international issues. Hillary Rodham Clinton has been an advocate for women and children. Although Hillary Rodham Clinton operates within the realm of liberal feminist values, attitudes and beliefs, she does not openly identify as a feminist. In fact, one of the few ways that Hillary Rodham Clinton’s actions and behaviors do not conform to liberal feminism, was that she does not publicly identify herself with the feminist movement. Meanwhile, Hillary Rodham Clinton left her mark on the White House and the American political landscape as a controversial First Lady that did not fit within the confines of patriarchy
The study captures Hillary Clinton political leadership in the United States and in the International arena.
First session provides an introduction to the background to the study, stating the relevance of this study, with its aim and objectives, justification of this research, the methodology used in carrying out this research, the scope of the research and various literature reviewed in relation to this study.
The study examines the historical antecedence of woman in international politics. The concept of feminism in international politics was interrogated, where various definitions and cases of women in international politics was outline. The work further captures how Women are often viewed as victims of conflict. But this view masks the important roles women play as leaders, especially in helping end conflict, developing post-conflict reintegration efforts and economic life, and even in leading the organization of camps for internally displaced persons.
The study also interrogated the early life and biography of Hillary Clinton and how she grows to be a woman of substance. The study went further to examine how Hillary Clinton helped define the role of the modern political spouse and was one of the most accomplished first ladies in American history. As a trained lawyer, she built a thriving career in the public and private sector, which she balanced with family life following her 1975 marriage to Bill Clinton. She was one of her husband’s closest advisors throughout his political career, which culminated in his election as president in 1992. As first lady, she focused on her lifelong interest in children’s issues and, more controversially, health care. The Clintons faced a series of personal and political crises while in the White House, during which the often polarzing Hillary was subject to intense scrutiny and criticism. In 2000, she won a seat in the U.S. Senate, becoming the first lady to win elected office. After a failed bid for the White House in 2008, Hilary Clinton was named U.S. Secretary of State by President Barack Obama in January 2009. The main trust of this seesion of the study was to inspect the early life and biography of Hillary Clinton.
