ABSTRACT
This study investigated the interaction between young people, and the concept of cryptocurrencies, it examines how they progressively evolved to accept cryptocurrencies, and the function Twitter(X) serves. By distributing a questionnaire to specific respondents, this research was made simple and practicable. According to this study, there is a new wave of digital currencies that young people have a tendency to accepting as a result of advertisements on social media, particularly Twitter(X). The world is continuously changing, so it only makes sense that we should adapt along with it.
This study adopts the qualitative method of data analysis, and also made use of questionnaire as the instrument of data collection. Tables were used to explain the various data collected from the respondents.
Through the application of these methods, it was discovered that the students on Ekehuan campus, university of Benin, to a large extent have adopted cryptocurrencies due to the influence of Twitter advertising. It was also determined that the youths on Ekehuan campus were exposed to the concept of cryptocurrencies through twitter advertising.
This study recommends that to avoid people from being duped by unscrupulous persons, the government should establish regulatory agencies to oversee the affairs of cryptocurrencies in the country. Also, cryptocurrency organizations should do well to educate the public so that they may better grasp crypto and the concept of blockchain and also, professionals in the area of cryptocurrencies should write more books regarding cryptocurrency and the blockchain, to educate the public.
