SUMMARY

All these are pointers to the fact that there are still more grounds to be covered if victory is to be holistic. In view of all these, UNICEF have always come in at regular intervals to help salvage the situation which is often times made even more complicated by poor documentations and lack of adequate personnel. Massive education of the girl child has always been advocated for by UNICEF as this will undoubtedly play a crucial role in correcting the ills of the past and of course, paving a way for a brighter future.

UNICEF have also made it a point of duty to go about the medical need of vulnerable children most especially those in the rural areas who may lack basic medical accessibility. This is also a commendable step as most of the trafficked children suffer different degrees of infections from sexual exploitation and other forms of unjustified servitude. With available data showing continous prevalent of child marriage which are traceable to child trafficking, UNICEF in conjunction with Conjunction on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) have fashioned out workable means in which perpetrators and accomplices in the crime can be made to face the consequences of their actions in accordance with extant laws. This goes further to explain the concrete steps taken by UNICEF to give the crime an international attention it sure deserves with the aim of containing it effectively.
