ABSTRACT
This research attempts to investigate the effect of unemployment in promoting youth violence in Egor local government, Edo State. Indeed unemployment is said to be responsible for incessant violence perpetuated by the youths in Nigeria to a large extent Since the youth are not given adequate opportunities to realize their potentials and to be able to contribute to national development. The study find out that the youths are vulnerable to political manipulation which tends to result to violence and other antisocial behaviors. Lack of proper education and economic empowerment are key factors that make youths susceptible to violence. This study recommends that the government and other stakeholders should try and reverse this trend.
