ABSTRACT

This research project examines the pivotal role played by the media in facilitating political emancipation and mobilization during the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria, focusing on the perspective of University of Benin students. Additionally, the study assesses the impact of media narratives, social media, and traditional outlets in shaping political opinions and catalyzing civic action. The findings of this research contribute valuable insights into the evolving dynamics of media's role in political processes, particularly within the context of Nigerian youth and academia.
