The study investigated the role of assistive technology (AT) in enhancing the learning of students with disabilities in Benin Metropolis. It examined the effectiveness of audio and visual AT and identified barriers to their implementation. The socio-demographic characteristics of the respondents indicated a predominantly female sample with a significant proportion of experienced teachers. Overall, the findings revealed positive perceptions among teachers regarding the effectiveness of AT in improving the learning experience of students with special needs. Both audio and visual AT were recognized for their role in creating inclusive learning environments and enhancing student engagement and independence. However, challenges such as funding constraints and inadequate training were identified as barriers to effective implementation.
