ABSTRACT
This study examine the relationship between learning style and emotional intelligence in Benin City, Edo State. With specific objectives to; examine the learning styles and emotional intelligence of adult education students and their academic achievement, the extent of emotional intelligence in adult education learners, the dominant learning styles among adult education students, and how learning environment for adult learning programmes can be enhanced. Four research question were raised to guide this study. A descriptive survey research design was used. The population of this study is the University of Benin, The University of Benin has a total population of seventy-seven thousand (77,000) students. sample size of 100 respondents from students and staff at the University of Benin. A questionnaire was used to gather information. The test-retest method was used to test for reliability. The analysis of the data was carried out using descriptive statistics. From the study, it is revealed that the majority of respondents prefer visual aids when learning new concepts. Among others. It is concluded that this study underscores the interplay between learning styles and emotional intelligence among adult education students in Nigerian universities, by recognising and accommodating diverse learning preferences while fostering emotional intelligence skills, educators and institutions can enhance the overall learning environment and support the academic journey of adult learners effectively.
