ABSTRACT
In this study, different ways or methods in which the quest to regain the lost identity of African Americans in the Black Panther and Mulatto living in 8 Western society are explored. In this research, the qualitative research method is applied. The theory of Afrofuturism is adopted in this study. After a rigorous but successful collation, findings from this research revealed the importance of reconciling one's heritage and embracing cultural identity. The main characters King T’Challa and Robert Lewis are faced with challenges regarding their identity. Both Black Pantherand Mulatto shed light on the challenges faced by individuals disconnected from their cultural heritage. They emphasize the significance of embracing one's roots and celebrating diverse identities. The result of this research is aimed at not only regaining the lost identity of African Americans but also reconnecting with the cultural heritage of Africans. This study concluded that the Black Panther and Mulatto offer compelling portrayals of the quest to regain lost identity and most importantly shed light on the challenges faced by individuals disconnected from their cultural heritage and emphasize the significance of embracing one's roots.
