ABSTRACT
Language is an inevitable phenomenon in human environment. Language is being used in every sphere of human inhabitation, due to this fact diverse languages keep evolving everyday. One of such languages that has evolved is the language of Instant Messaging Language (IML), which resulted from the introduction of mobile phones. The research focuses on how the language of instant message service is formed, that is, how words are formed that makes it different from others. According to some scholars the language of instant messaging affects the everyday language of its users and some have gone ahead to seek means of discouraging the use of the language in order to prevent further damage to the conventional language of the society.
