CONCLUSION
Pre-colonial Emure Ekiti, from its inception by prince Fagbamila, has greatly grown in leaps and bounds sustained a centralized political authority. Emure Ekiti Has become one of the oldest and existing towns in Ekiti state in the South Western region of Nigeria, Buoyed by favourable climate and topographical conditions, the pre-colonial and present Emure Ekiti People practice efficient and productive agricultural activities that served the dual purpose of sustenance of their families and providence of articles of trade. Farms produce such as yam, banana, vegetables, maize and crops introduced by British such as cocoa, in the pre-colonial all served the dual purpose though agricultural activities were undertaken with crude implements in the pre-colonial era, the coming of colonial era speed up sowing and harvesting process and provided increased crop production which in turn enhanced Emure Ekiti Relations with her neighbours.
However, with agriculture being the main base of economic activities of pre-colonial Emure Ekiti, other economic activities such as Trade and Industry took the role of auxiliaries in the sustenance of Emure Ekiti Economy in the pre-colonial period. Trade (necessitated by the inability of a state or village to be self-sufficient) increased the relationship between and her neighbours and trade relations in the market environment ensured the exchange of cultural and social ideas and beliefs between the village represented in the markets. The industrial pursuits and activities of the people have also ensured its continued fame in the whole reign of Ekiti. This fame mostly ascribed to the pot makers, bead makers, cosmetic makers, carver, blacksmiths and leather worker whose products went as far as Ikitun, (present Osun state) Olfa (present Kwara state) and even Oyo markets, brought to the fore front among its neighbours.
