Findings revealed that Authoritative parenting style and authoritarian parenting style help in preventing child abuse and child neglect. It shows that authoritative and authoritarian parenting styles are the best parenting style in raising a child, it boost the children’s confidence and helps in preventing child abuse and child neglect Based on the findings, Parenting practices should be tailored to the individual child's needs and characteristics, rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach. Parents should also show love and affection to their children because the way children are being treated at home determines how they will be treated when they get out and it also influence their thinking which might in turn lead to abuse and neglect. Unnecessary quietness and withdrawal from others may be an expression of parental neglect and abuse as a child find it difficult to discuss their challenges especially neglect and abuse with people for fear of being mocked at.
