ABSTRACT
The study investigated the influence of digitalizing education on students' learning experiences, motivation, interest in education, and access to academic materials in Nigerian universities. It aimed to assess how digital tools and online platforms impact student engagement and access to resources. Data were collected from 50 undergraduate students in their 300-400 academic levels, using a simple random sampling technique. A questionnaire with 20 questions was used to gather responses, and the results were analyzed using mean and standard deviation tables. The study was validated through expert judgment from the Department of Curriculum and Instructional Technology at the University of Benin. The findings revealed that students perceived digital education as improving their learning experience, making course materials easier to understand, and creating a more engaging academic environment. Digital platforms increased students' motivation by offering flexible access to learning materials and encouraging commitment to their academic tasks. Moreover, the interactive nature of digital tools helped to sustain students’ interest in education, while the availability of up-to-date academic materials online made it convenient for students to access a wide range of resources, enhancing their comprehension of subjects. In conclusion, the study demonstrated that digitalizing education positively influenced students' learning, motivation, and access to academic materials in Nigerian universities. The recommendations made included investing in digital infrastructure, expanding the availability of digital resources, promoting the use of interactive tools in teaching, providing regular training for students and staff, and ensuring affordable access to digital devices for students to maximize the benefits of digital education
