ABSTRACT
This study examines the influence of community education in the development of women for socio-economic empowerment in Egor LGA. The primary data were collected from 10000 women residing in Egor LGA of Edo State. 140 respondents were selected using Simple Random Sampling technique, Four research questions were raised to guild the study. The instrument was validated by 3 experts from the Department of Adult and Non-Formal Education, Faculty of Education. The data collected was organized into frequency tables and they were analyzed using percentages. The findings underscore the importance of community education initiatives in addressing gender inequalities and promoting women's socio-economic empowerment in Egor LGA. Despite the positive perceptions regarding the impact of these programs, there are notable gaps in perceptions and challenges that need to be addressed. Addressing these challenges requires holistic interventions that consider the diverse needs and contexts of women in the community Design community education programs tailored to address the specific needs and challenges faced by women in Egor LGA, focusing on improving access to education, healthcare, economic opportunities, and political participation. Conduct awareness campaigns and advocacy efforts to challenge traditional gender norms and reduce social stigma and discrimination against women in the community. Provide capacity-building initiatives, including skill development and entrepreneurship training, to empower women economically and enhance their socio-economic status. Invest in infrastructure development, including transportation facilities and access to essential services, to improve the effectiveness of community education programs. Foster collaboration among stakeholders, including local government authorities, community leaders, NGOs, and international organizations, to leverage resources and expertise in promoting women's empowerment.
