ABSTRACT
This study examined the importance of agricultural science training and extension services amongs workers in Edo State. Five research questions were raised to guide the study and one hypothesis was formulated and tested at 0.05 level significance. The study employed a descriptive survey research design. Comprised all two hundred and eight (208) agricultural workers in the ministry of education in the Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State. A well structured questinnaire were used to select one hundred and twenty (120) agricultural workers in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State. The result from the findings shows that agricultural workers in Edo State have equal access to essentials agricultural training and extension services. The findings also shows that there is no significant differences between agricultural science training and extension services amongs male and female agricultural workers in Edo State. Based on the findings of the study, it was concluded that agricultural science training and extension services play an important role amongst agricultural workers in Edo State. Its therefore recommended that private sector should also be made to participate in funding by providing equipments , facilities and instructional materials , grants, and mentorship to agricultural workers for effective job performances and developments.
