Summary

The study investigates the impact of Teachers' Qualification on the Academic Performance of Students in secondary schools in Oredo local Government Area of Edo State. The objectives of the study were to:

  •        Ascertain the impact of teachers' qualification on students' academic performance in secondary schools in Oredo local government area of Edo state.
  •        Ascertain the impact of teachers'qualification on student’s academic performance based on gender of the teacher.
  •        Determine if there is a difference in the performance of students taught by qualified teachers than ones taught by unqualified teachers in Oredo local government area of Edo State.

Relevant literature was also reviewed which include; Theoretical Framework, Concept of Teacher Qualification, Concept of Students Academic Performance, Factors Influencing Students' Academic Performance, Teachers' Gender and Students performance, The Impact of Teachers' Qualification on Students'Academic Performance, and Empirical Reviews.

The discriptive research design was adopted for the study. The study population comprised all secondary school teachers in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State. The reseacher used 10% of total male and female teachers to arrive at a sample size of 186.
