ABSTRACT
The study was designed to examinethe impact of salaries and wages administration on employeesjob performance: A case study of Edo Internal Revenue Service (EIRS)Benin City, Edo state. The objectives of the study include the following: to examine the effect of wages and salary administration on employee performance in EIRS, to investigate if wages and salary is a motivator for employee performance at EIRS., to examine management policies and programmes on effective wages and salary administration towards employee performance at EIRS, and to examine the challenges of wages and salary administration on employee performance at EIRS.In order to ascertain the extent of relationship between wages and salary administration and employee job performance the following research hypotheses became necessary which are stated in the null form; there is no significant relationship between wages and salary administration and employee performance at EIRS. there is no significant relationship between wages and salary as a motivator and employee performance at EIRS. there is no significant relationship between management policies and programmes on effective wages and salary administration andemployee performance at EIRS. there is no significant relationship between the challenges of wages and salary administration and employee performance at EIRS.
