ABSTRACT

This study comparatively explores the impact of salaries and wages administration on employees job performance. A Case Study of Edo Internal Revenue Service (EIRS) Benin City, Edo State. Four well-structured research questions were formulated and fifteen questions were administered to the respondent to collect response from them, the population for the study include office staff and field workers of Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS). To conduct the study, a total of 114 respondents were drawn from Edo State Internal Revenue Service. Results shows that the wages and salaries regime in EIRS do not reflects the economic realities of the times.  The study also reveals that an increase in salaries and wages would increase productivity. Thus, it was recommended that Management should be proactive in handling the complaints of employees concerning the salary administration in EIRS and Fairness and Equity should be the guiding principles in structuring the salary administration in EIRS.
