THE IMPACT OF INTERNET RADIO ON INFORMATION DISSEMINATION. A STUDY OF SELECT INTERNET RADIO STATIONS

ABSTRACT

The study is on the Assessment of the Impact of Internet Radio on Information Dissemination. A study of select internet radio stations. It aimed at discovering the extent to which University of Benin Ekehuan Campus are exposed to various internet radio and to ascertain the attitude of the University of Benin, Ekehuan Campus towards the impact of internet radio stations on information Dissemination. This study aim is to determine the preference of respondents on either the internet or traditional radio. The study was anchored on Agenda setting Theory and Diffusion of Innovation Theory of Mass Communication. The researcher adopted the survey design method and it was used in gathering the data for the study. The findings revealed that majority of the Students of University of Benin, Ekehuan Campus are exposed to the internet radio and some of the respondents listens to online radio shows. It also revealed that students actually derive information from radio program sites as they are usually online.
