Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the impact of incentives on employee productivity at Nadia Bakery, Ugbowo, Benin city in Edo State. The population of the study comprised the sixty (60) employees of which a sample of all sixty (60) employees as respondent was drawn using the purposive sampling technique. The primary data was collected through the use of a structured questionnaire and was analysed through descriptive and inferential statistics using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20 while secondary data was collected from internet, textbooks, previous project work on related topics. The study, thus, found that Nadia Bakery, Ugbowo, Benin City, Edo State encourage employees through incentives and there are positive significant differences among the incentives used (vis-à-vis training, better working environment, benefits, base pay, feedback, recognition, participation, profit sharing, gain sharing, initiative rewards and special rewards); financial incentives have a positive significant impact on employee productivity in Nadia Bakery, Ugbowo, Benin city in Edo State and nonfinancial performance incentives have a positive significant impact on employee productivity in Nadia Bakery, Ugbowo, Benin city in Edo State.
