ABSTRACT
This project examined the impact of home economic vocational training on employability skill among graduates. To provide focus for the study, four research questions were raised. The population consist of 256 students of Vocational and Technical Education, Faculty of Education, University of Benin, Benin City. The simple random sampling techniques was adopted. A sample of (100) respondents was randomly selected from the population. A descriptive frequency and simple percentage was used. From the findings The findings of the study revealed that the level of vocational training enhances employability skill among graduate. The vocational training/education is a vehicle for the development of marketable and entrepreneurial skills and the engine of development among graduate. The level of vocational training encompasses knowledge, skills, competencies, structural activities, and abilities on employability skills among graduate. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the level of vocational training encompasses knowledge, skills, competencies, structural activities, and abilities on employability skills among graduate. Potentials in dress design can enhance employability skills by fostering professionalism, communication, attention to detail, creativity, adaptability, self-presentation among graduate. Based on the conclusion the following recommendations were made that There is need to regularly monitor and evaluate the employability outcomes of graduates to assess the effectiveness of the training program. Use this data to inform future program enhancements and ensure that the training remains relevant and impactful. There is need for government to collaborate with industry partners to ensure that the training programs align with current market needs and standards. This can include internships, apprenticeships, and mentorship opportunities with professionals in relevant fields such as hospitality, fashion, and interior design. There is need to regularly update the curriculum to incorporate emerging trends and technologies in home economics-related industries. This ensures that graduates are proficient in the latest techniques and tools, making them more competitive in the job market.
