ABSTRACT

The study examined the impact of corporate social responsibility on organizational performance of Nigeria quoted companies. This study used a sample of 13 quoted money deposit banks in the Nigerian Exchange Group that have consistently published their annual audited financial report for the period of 2013 to 2022. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and panel least square regression technique. The results showed that community development and investment have a negative effect on organizational performance, staff welfare and development exerts a negative and insignificant impact on organizational performance, social and political involvement exerts an insignificant impact on organizational performance. The study recommended that board of directors of deposit money banks should attach a high level of importance to policies concerned with community service. The study suggested that employment policies should be reviewed periodically and given more attention, which could enhance the firm performance of deposit money banks in Nigeria, organizations should ensure they disclose all their social responsibility actions to the appropriate stakeholders for a positive image and reputation.
