ABSTRACT
This study was carried out to examine the effects of inappropriate refuse disposal on the health effect of inhabitants living in Ekosodin community. three research questions were raised and analysed for the study. The descriptive survey design was used for this study. The population for this study was the seven thousand (7000) residents of Ekosodin community according to the 2006 population census. A sample of 100 respondents was used for the study. The instrument used for the study was a questionnaire designed by the researcher. The researcher supervisor and two experts from the Department of Health, Safety and Environmental Education, validated the questionnaire. Their corrections and observation helped produce the final copy of the instrument. The reliability of the instrument was established using the test-retest method. The researcher administered the instrument and the data collected was subjected to descriptive statistics. The findings of the study are as follows, financial constraints hinder residents' ability to dispose of properly refuse in the Ekosodin community, improper refuse disposal in Ekosodin negatively affects the overall well-being of residents living in Ekoosodin, recycling, Publicprivate partnerships, Educational campaigns and the use of Biodegradable packaging material will enhance waste management in Ekosodin The researcher made recommendations to curb the menace of inappropriate refuse disposal in Ekosodin.
