ABSTRACT
This study examines bilingualism and its effects on Yoruba-English bilinguals to see the various aspects of bilingualism and its effects. The instruments used for the collection of data/responses were questionnaires, interviews and recorded conversations. The responses gathered helped in the analysis of these data. Frequency tables were also drawn using percentages. After all the analysis, lots of things were discovered and mentioned in the chapter four of this work, and also proper recommendations were made to concerned parties such as bilingual individuals, the society and the government as regards language policies in Nigeria.
This research is divided into five chapters:
Chapter one is the general introduction to the work which includes the background of study, methodology, theoretical framework, purpose of study, statement of the problem, significance and justification of study.
In chapter two, the research work entails the review of relevant literatures and this chapter is divided into three different sections; conceptual review, previous studies and concerns of present study.
