ABSTRACT
The study examined the effect of working environment on employee productivity. The objectives of the study are to examine how work environment affects employee productivity in the University of Benin examine how working condition affect employee productivity in the University Of Benin ascertain how communication in the work environment affect employee productivity in the University Of Benin and to make appropriate recommendations
The descriptive survey design was adopted for this study. One hundred and seventy eight (178) copies of questionnaires were distributed to academic staff in the University of Benin, Benin City. Data collected were analysed using frequency count, percentages, and mean while the hypothesis was tested using ANOVA with the aid of the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) 24.0.
The empirical result revealed that working environment affects employee productivity. The study concludes that good physical working environment inspires workers to spend more time in their various offices, employees responded emotionally better towards the provision of good office environment by not absenting themselves necessarily from work. The study recommends that organizations should ensure that the workplace environment is comfortable enough to support employee performance by improving the working conditions. Improving the working environment will increase employee will increase employee performance.
