ABSTRACT
This study was on the effect of twitter ban in Nigeria among the Universities of Benin and Benson Idahosa Edo state. Three objectives were raised which included: To find out the causes of twitter ban in Nigeria, to find out the effect of twitter ban among Universities of Benin and Benson Idahosa Edo state and to determine if the Nigeria Government Twitter ban is a bridge to the fundamental human rights of her citizens. The total population for the study is 75 lecturers and students of Universities of Benin and Benson Idahosa in Edo state. The researcher used questionnaires as the instrument for the data collection. Descriptive Survey research design was adopted for this study. The data collected were presented in tables and analyzed using simple percentages and frequencies. The survey design was adopted, with a 19-item questionnaire to elicit data from 201 respondents selected from the total population of 11,500 students of the University of Benin (7,500) and the Benson Idahosa University (4,000) through simple sampling technique. Data obtained were presented and analyzed with the aid of frequency tables and simple percentages.
