ABSTRACT
The purpose Of this study is to prefer help solution to this monster called sexual abuse, this study went further to reveal the Effect of sexual Abuse on a child's cognitive development in Benin metropolis. . To guide this study, Three research questions were raised. The sampling technique used was a simple random sampling technique, the sample size was 50. The study implored a descriptive survey. The method of data collection was a questionnaire which was divided into four sections. Section A was the demographic details,Section B was the link between rape experience and poor memory of child rape victims while section C is What is the relationship between sexual assault and low reasoning capacity of child rape victims and section D is How does post traumatic stress disorder caused by sexual abuse affects the intelligence level of Child rape victims. The data collected was analyzed using mean and standard deviation. The findings of the study shows that there is a strong effect of sexual Abuse on a child's cognitive development so parent's,guidance and teachers should create awareness about sexual assault and it danger on children.
