ABSTRACT
The objective of the study is to examine the following: to determine the relationship between the transport charges and consumer patronage; to determine the relationship between the services rendered and consumer patronage; to determine the relationship between promotion and consumer patronage; to determine the relationship between the location and consumer patronage and to determine the relationship between income and consumer patronage. The study adopted a survey research design. The population of the study comprises of the customers of both God is Good Motors and Edegbe Line Motors, Benin City in Edo state. However, the Purposive/Judgmental sampling technique was employed to select a sample of Two hundred respondents for the purpose of the study. Primary data and Secondary was used for the study and Regression analysis was reemployed as the Method of data analysis. The findings of the study revealed: there is a relationship between transport charges and consumer patronage; there is a relationship between services rendered and consumer patronage; there is a relationship between promotion and consumer patronage; there is a relationship between the location and consumer patronage and there is a relationship between income and consumer patronage. Government should encourage private investors by building new roads, bridges and so on. Each tier of Government should develop its own roads and linking roads to facilitate inter and intra state transportation.
