ABSTRACT
Spondias mombin is commonly used by the local populace to treat various diseases. The present study investigated the effect of the administration of S. mombin ethanoic and hydroethanoic extract on some tumor markers in DMH-induced colorectal cancer in Wistar rats. From the results obtained, PTEN and TGF-B gene expression were found to be significantly upregulated compared to normal control. The results show the therapeutic effect of Spondias mombin extract against DMH-induced colorectal-carcinogenesis.
