ABSTRACT
This project work provides a broad knowledge on the effect of educational facilities on academic performance of senior secondary school students in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo state. The purpose of this study was to proffer solution to the problem of inadequate school facilities that militates the advancement of educational system. This is descriptive survey, which is non-experimental, the purpose of descriptive survey research is to describe that which exist and accurately and clearly as possible. It is the most appropriate methodology to investigate human behavior perception and opinions of people. The population of this study includes all students of Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State.
A total of 100 respondents were sampled for the study. The simple random procedure was used to select respondents from senior secondary school Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State. The instrument used in this study is the questionnaire titled “Effect of Educational Facilities on Students’ Academic Performance”
Data was analyzed using frequency counts and simple percentages. This method of data analysis of either positive or negative answer was based on percentage scores. Based on analysis of data the following conclusions were drawn concerning the research questions. School facilities are responsible for the academic performance of students. From this research, it shows that inadequate facilities have brought about the low academic performance of students.
