ABSTRACT
Fertility and reproduction, which are essential for the continuation of life and the maintenance of progeny, are the foundation of human life. The inability to conceive after engaging in frequent, unprotected sexual activity for at least a year is considered infertility, a severe global health issue. Although considerable research is lacking, it has been asserted that a bi-herbal mixture of pineapple juice and coconut milk has fertile benefits on female reproductive organs. This study was designed to investigate the effect of bi-herbal mixture of pineapple juice and coconut milk on the reproductive system of female albino rats. For a period of 28 days, four groups of female albino rat (6 for each experimental group) had oral route administration of the whole plant extracts of pineapple juice and coconut milk at doses of 500 and 1000 mg/kg alongside diethylstilbestrol and controls. Weights of the body and reproductive organs were recorded. The results revealed a significant increase in body weight, reproductive organ mass, and levels of EST2, FSH, and LH. A dose-dependent relationship exists between the diameter and size of the uterine endometrial gland epithelium and a significant P-value of (p>0.05) when compared to control. According to study findings, bi-herbal mixture of pineapple juice and coconut milk is a powerful phytoestrogen that can work on the female reproductive system to increase oestrogen production and promote fertility.
