SUMMARY
The dominant group of prey items in this study was insects with 54.55% and was the only group recovered from P. bibroni. P. mascareniensis accounted for the species with the most diverse prey items (12). The overall most abundant prey item was Hymenoptera, as well as the most frequent prey item. Although P. bibroni recorded a constant prey item (Coleoptera), the highest food group overall was secondary, represented by Hymenoptera. The overall most preferred prey item was Coleoptera. Rate of feeding activities indicated that P. mascareniensis had the highest rate of feeding activity with 45.0%. There were dietary overlaps between Ptychadena bibroni and Ptychadena mascareniensis (1.0), between P. bibroni and P. oxyrhynchus (1.0) and between P. mascareniensis and P. oxyrhynchus (1.0).
