ABSTRACT
The case study of the African Timber and Plywood Company (AT&P) provides valuable insights into the dynamics of the timber industry in the Midwest and offers several recommendations for future research and industry development. These recommendations aim to address key challenges and opportunities facing the timber industry, enhance sustainability and competitiveness, and promote economic growth and community development.
First, new research should look into new technologies and methods that can help the timber business be more environmentally friendly and run more efficiently. As part of this, new methods for cutting down on waste and making the best use of resources are being developed for harvesting, processing, and manufacturing wood. New technologies like artificial intelligence, machine learning, and automation could also help speed up production, improve product quality, and lessen the damage to the environment. This is something that researchers should look into.
