SUMMARY
The role of women in Capacity building and Economic development in Nigeria cannot be over emphasized Right from the beginning, women have been sidelined as the weaker vessel; as patriarchy was the order of the day. Women have been limited to child bearing, and a woman’s place has been limited to the kitchen.1 This project work has been able to reveal that women apart from being wives, home-keepers, and mothers are also capable of boasting the economy of the nation, by contributing their own quota to capacity building and economic development. We have seen the likes of Ibokun Awosika, Folorunsho Alakija, and Late Professor Grace Alele Williams who contributed their quota to the development of Nigeria by holding and performing excellently in the key positions they held in Nigeria, thereby raising the ego of women, whenever the history of women in Nigeria is being told.
