Summary

This study investigates the connection between the performance of quoted deposit money banks listed on the Nigeria Stock Exchange and dividend policy. Using panel data technique, it examines the correlations over a nine-year period between the independent variables Leverage (LEVERAGE), Liquidity (LIQ), Firm Size (SIZE), and Firm Age (AGE). The dependent variable is Return on Asset (ROA) (2011-2018). The major findings are summarized below: The primary internal link between the quantity of assets and the dividend policy of quoted companies listed on the Nigerian stock market's floor:  Leverage (LEVERAGE) – this exerts a negative relationship with performance ROA. This simply implies that the ratio of debt to equity was not favourable in term 65 of determining the value of the firm.  Firm Age (AGE) – this also exerts a negative and a strong relationship with performance ROA. This implies that the age of the firm does not really determine the impact of the firm.  Return on Assets (ROA) – positively and not statistically significant to dividend policy.
