SUMMARY

Though the levels of Nigeria relations with the Soviet Union took different forms and intensity over the period of study, it did not in the real sense result in converted or solid interactions primarily because, the ideologies of both countries are of two parallel lines; Soviet Union remains a socialist state with a national goal of acquiring satellite’s or at least, friendly nations in its ideological struggle ,while Nigeria remains the essentially a capitalist state desirous of maintaining its political ,economic and social independence especially against all those with an unfamiliar ideology.
