THE CATHOLIC CHURCH AND ITS IMPACT ON WOMEN, A CASE STUDY CATHOLIC WOMEN ORGANIZATION (CWO) FROM 2000-2019

ABSTRACT

This chapter gives us the preamble of the entire research work; it captures the introduction, aim and objectives, scope of the study, methodology and literature review. The chapter will survey the historical background of Catholic Church in Nigeria and the establishment of the Catholic women organisation in Nigeria. The chapter inspects the operational mode of the establishment of Catholic Women Organisation in Nigeria. The chapter also point out the various responsibility and functions of the CWO. This chapter examines the activities and impact of the CWO on women. The chapter identifies the case study of several women empowerment project carryout by the CWO in Catholic Church and general society. The chapter also investigates challenges faced by the CWO in carrying out their responsibilities. This chapter examines the summary the entire study. It gives an overview of the various chapters and identifies contribution to knowledge of the study as a whole.
