THE ASSESSMENT OF INFORMATION MANAGEMENT BY EXTENSION WORKERS IN EDO STATE

SUMMARY

The study examined the assessment of information management among extension workers in Edo State, Nigeria. Specifically the study focused on the socio-economic characteristic of extension workers, identified extension workerssources, availability, and accessibility of agricultural information, identified group of farmers extension workers disseminate information to, identified information management activities performed by respondents’ and their frequency of performance and identified the constraints encountered by extension workers in getting agriculture information before disseminating to farmers.

To achieve the objective, data were collected from extension workers; questionnaires were administered on extension workers in Edo State ADP, NIFOR, RRIN and Benin Owena River Basin, to generate information for the research. Result of the findings provided answers to the set problem statement, objectives and hypothesis of the study.
